
With over 70 million books in print since its founding in 2017, Foundation Media Partners has a proven track record of representing globally renowned authors and developing some of the most beloved franchise properties in publishing. Building on this legacy, Foundation launched its dedicated book division to bring innovative, franchise-forward thinking to the world of publishing.
In partnership with top five publisher Macmillan, Foundation Books will publish 6–10 high-impact titles per year. While genres will vary, each title will be selected with a strong foundation in storytelling, high adaptation potential for film and television, and the ability to evolve into long-term franchise properties.
The division’s launch slate includes bestselling author titles, reissues of high-performing backlist properties, and pop culture-driven narratives designed to resonate across formats.
In addition to its publishing partnership with Macmillan, Foundation also represents leading publisher Simon & Schuster and manages the joint venture between Macmillan and Build-A-Bear Workshop.
For projects that fall outside the internal publishing slate, Foundation continues to represent select authors and literary properties. A recent example includes the auction sale of bestselling author Anh Do’s Wolf Girl series to HarperCollins.
Macmillan Publishers
In 2024 we formed an unprecedented partnership with publishing powerhouse Macmillan, resulting in the launch of Foundation Media Books. Foundation Media Books are formed with the intention to bring an innovative approach to the publishing industry. We will open worlds that center exploration, community and friendship, self-acceptance, empowering the youth and celebrating all aspects of humanity, even the silly, the absurd, the off beat. Our titles are brought forth with a massive entertainment engine behind them. As franchise filmmakers, we search for creative storytelling that lives far beyond the page, allowing us to build multiple brands that seamlessly translate into film and television, music, live events, consumer goods and beyond. All titles we propose will be evaluated through this lens, then paired with a 360 marketing roll out plan, for which we will call in our brand partners and the biggest names in entertainment.
Concepts will come from a blend of film and television properties we are developing and reverse engineering, as well as brand new concepts from the best-selling authors FMP has worked with for years including Aaron Blabey, Jim Benton & #1 Australian children’s author Anh Do.
Operating as both the publisher and a production entity, we will be in a position to offer extremely competitive deals to the authors under our umbrella, giving them unprecedented splits, more creative control & meaningful involvement in their IP from start to finish. Foundation Media books will release 6-10 books a year.
